Being an electrician or a lineman is probably one of the toughest and most dangerous jobs around. These men literally risk their lives getting trip and electrocuted while on duty if there are faulty electrical wirings and/or poor weather conditions. There are many kinds of job that involves electricians like linemen repairing faulty street transformers or jammed lines due to typhoon, repairing building or school air conditioners, lights, ceiling fans and many more.
This job needs total focus and concentration on the current task at hand. One of the things an electrician needs is his tool bag that contain pliers, screw drivers, allen set, voltmeters, electrical tapes, screws etc. This is his best friend when they guy is up 20 or 30 ft in the air or inside the building repairing a broken electrical wire.
When buying an electrician tool pouch, we should have a clear understanding of what we need for the job. There are several electrician tool bags or electrician tool belts to choose from however, there are also several kinds that are not suited for our line of work. In connection with this, these are some of the things we must keep in mind.
Things to check:
1. Quality
An electrician should always mind the quality of the tool pouch he is planning buy. Is it made from a durable type of material like Nylon or Polyester Fabric? How long will it last? These are some of the questions we should ask ourselves when choosing over tool bags online or at our local shops. Electricians need a tool pouch containing multiple compartments to store and organize their tools neatly. Some tool bags available provide multiple pockets with additional trays underneath to accommodate smaller things like screws, nuts, bolts and nails. Others have rubber padding on the base of the pouch to keep your tools from moisture and corrosion.

2. Safety
Safety should be one of your top priorities while looking for a new tool pouch. Make sure that the tool bag was made from non-conductive type of fabric so as not to store static electricity. This may cause shock and might result to a terrible accident to you or your crew members.
This goes the same for the material used on the shoulder and/or belt straps. Will it tear easily? It should hold up to the maximum loading of tools you’ll put in it. Otherwise, the guy standing underneath you will suffer from injuries due to falling pliers and screws!
Some electricians’ tool bags are secured by buckles only. Make sure that the buckles will not “buckle” under pressure due to heavy loading.
3. Dimensions
You should also check whether the tool bag suits you. There are compact tool pouches made with good material and contain several compartments to accommodate your tools. Also, consider the weight of the bag you’re planning to buy. There are electrical tool pouches which may contain heavy materials that aren’t suited to your frame.
In summary, getting an electrician tool pouch should have qualities like: functionality, is comfortable to carry, safe at your workplace. Be sure to check these items so you will have peace mind while at work!
